Located close to Kyoto Station, RIHGA Royal Hotel Kyoto can be used for a wide range of purposes from sightseeing to business. Our hotel also offers a wide variety of Japanese, Western, and Chinese restaurants, lounges, and bars, including a guest room with a Kyoto-style atmosphere, 16 banquet rooms that can be used for various occasions, an all-day dining room with 210 seats, and Kyoto's only revolving restaurant, offering a 360-degree view of the city. ### 1969: The Birth of the Kyoto Grand Hotel

The Kyoto Grand Hotel was opened on November 1st, 1969 in anticipation of the 1970 Japan World Exposition.  
At the time of opening, the hotel started operations with 430 guest rooms, 7 banquet rooms, and 7 restaurants, 2 bars, and a lounge.

### 1975: Expansion and a Second Wing

In August 1975, a new wing was opened on the south side of the hotel.  
The total guest rooms reached 613.

### 1997: Crowning the RIHGA Royal Hotel Kyoto

On April 1st, 1997, the Kyoto Grand Hotel was renamed the RIHGA Royal Hotel Kyoto.
